Nova Scotia with us. During the first two days of the program we will paddle the tidal features created on the Shubenacadie River “The Shubie”. This unique world class paddling environment will surprise and amaze you. Mountains of chocolate brown water will build and accelerate under your kayak as we move inward with the tide. After two days on the Shubie we will then head to Brier Island to spend two days paddling the races around Gull Rock and Peter’s Channel. Brier Island is located in the lower Bay of Fundy and provided plenty of challenging condition for people looking to build confidence and skills in this dynamic environment.
You should be at the BCu 3 Star or Paddle Canada level 2 skills in or equivalent to take part in this program.
Coaches for this program will be Sean Morley, Christophe Lockyer and Jarrod Gunn McQullian

This award is intended for paddlers who journey on the sea in areas where tidal races, headlands, open crossings, swell and challenging coastlines will be encountered. The award should be accessible to all those people who journey on the sea on a regular basis and should not be seen as the preserve of a few elite performers. Participants must have open water navigation before they can take part in this program
Excludes: Sea kayak, BCU Fees, meals accommodations and personal clothing

Join Special Guest Coaches , Gordon Brown and Sid Sinfiled BCU Level 5 Coaches along with Christopher Lockyer, Erik Ogaard Paddle Canada Senior Instructors for a great day on the water.
The session is structure to be a fun class room based morning and an afternoon on water session.
The proposed aims of the program we have designed are:
- To introduce coaches to certain core coaching process.
- To expand the coaches range of coaching and teaching styles.
- To highlight current best practices and demonstrate them effectively
- To provide coaches with teaching tools and resources which will add to and enhance their programs.
- Observation and analysis process and improving this skill
The anticipated overall result is to provide an experience and information that allows and facilitates paddling professionals to understand their teaching styles, to consider new approaches and to perform some self-reflection on their current approaches and the experience and skills that their students take away. It is open to any Paddle Canada ACA or CKC instructors.

This program is aimed at participants who have been paddling for a while and are looking to refine their skills.. During this program you will spend two days in a number of different paddling environments. Flat water, wind, swell and tidal streams. The Tusket Island offer paddlers so many opportunities to explore and play.
